TREATMENT
Tooth pain, sensitivity, or swelling may signal a deep infection inside the tooth — but that doesn’t always mean extraction is necessary. At Astra Dental Clinic, we offer advanced root canal treatment (RCT) to eliminate infection, relieve pain, and save your natural tooth.
With our gentle approach and modern technology, root canal therapy is a comfortable and highly effective solution to preserve your oral health.
A root canal is a dental procedure used to treat infection or inflammation inside the tooth — specifically in the pulp (nerve) chamber and root canals.
Instead of removing the entire tooth, we clean and seal the inner structure, allowing the tooth to function normally and remain in place.

Persistent toothache or throbbing pain

Sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers

Swelling or tenderness in the gums

Darkened or discolored tooth

A pimple-like bump on the gums (abscess)

Pain when biting or chewing
If left untreated, an infected tooth can lead to bone loss, abscess formation, or even systemic health issues.
01
Examination & X-rays
We perform a clinical evaluation and digital imaging to assess the infected tooth and surrounding structures.
02
Anesthesia
Local anesthesia is administered to numb the area — the procedure is pain-free and comfortable.
03
Access & Cleaning
A small opening is made in the tooth to access the pulp chamber.
We use rotary instruments and irrigation to remove infected tissue and bacteria.
04
Shaping & Disinfection
The root canals are carefully shaped and disinfected to eliminate all traces of infection.
05
Filling the Canals
We fill the cleaned canals with a biocompatible material (usually gutta-percha) and seal them tightly.
06
Temporary or Permanent Restoration
A temporary filling is placed, followed by a crown at a later visit to restore full function and protect the tooth long-term.
How Long Does It Take?
Most root canals are completed in 1 to 2 visits, each lasting about 60–90 minutes.
Complex cases (e.g., molars or retreatment) may require additional sessions.
